Your privacy choices depend on how you use MasteriTrail. Public practice, your own tutoring account, parent-managed home learning, and school records are separate paths—not one shared account or permission.
Choose the notice for your learning path
Public samples and practice
You can explore public samples without an account. In the independent tutoring public-practice player, answers stay only in the open page; they are not saved to an account and can be lost on navigation or reload. Hosting connections and any feedback you choose to send are separate.
Save your own learning with a username, password, and recovery PIN. No school code, roster connection, real name, or email is needed. Nickname and provided character are optional. This independent path does not require school authorization and cannot access school records.
Use the existing family path for a parent-managed home profile, including learners under 13. Required consent and guardian verification are separate from personal tutoring signup. Home records are not school records.
School review and current authorization are required before real school records are used. Use fictional records for an unauthorized school evaluation. Private teacher planning does not grant classroom access. This page is not evidence of school or district approval or FERPA certification.
Information we use
The information saved depends on the learning path you choose. Personal tutoring stores a chosen username, hashed password and recovery PIN verifiers, age group, notice acknowledgment and version, account/session version, timestamps, and an optional nickname and character ID. Saved tutoring work includes your answers, written applications, progress, revisions, and the content snapshot needed to interpret your work. School and home accounts can also include class or family relationships, assignments, scores, feedback, saved drafts, learning-support settings, consent and authorization records, and privacy requests. Parent accounts and optional teacher mailbox features use email addresses. Older school records may include email or Google account/roster identifiers. Personal tutoring signup does not collect an email address.
Why we use it
We use this information to sign you in, recover and protect accounts, provide learning activities, save requested work, show practice results, suggest review, and respond to support and privacy requests. School and verified family reporting are separate from independent personal tutoring. Practice recommendations are application rules, not a diagnosis, a validated prediction of an exam score, or an official course grade. Do not put real names, birth dates, home addresses, government IDs, passwords, recovery PINs, medical documents, or unrelated private information in answers or feedback.
Who can see personal tutoring work
Personal tutoring account controls and saved work are available only to the current holder of that personal account through its separate sign-in. A teacher, parent, school code, or another learner account does not gain access to it. It does not import existing school or family records. Optional nicknames and provided characters do not create public profiles; there are no profile-photo uploads in this account flow. Hosting and database operators may have technical access to stored information. Application permissions do not replace provider agreements or guarantee that infrastructure operators cannot access data.
School and family access
School and home learners can see their own records. Academic work, scores, and optional support information are shared in the application with the current class teacher and a current independently verified guardian linked to that learner. A self-attested relationship is not enough for guardian academic access. Owners and scoped privacy staff have operational account or case functions; administrative status alone does not grant access to academic work, support details, or request narratives. Verified school and family relationships, consent, and their expiry are checked separately.
Learning supports
Current learning tools include audio, shorter chunks, Spanish support, scaffolds, large text, and response-length preferences where available. Authorized school or family adults may manage optional support settings and instructional notes in the existing support portal. These tools do not diagnose a disability or establish that a school plan has been met. Do not upload medical or IEP documents. The family notice explains the existing support-profile information and access limits; personal tutoring signup does not ask for a support profile.
Feedback and connection information
If you choose Feedback & comments, we save the category, your message, the page path, a review status, and submission time for the site owner to review. This can be submitted without signing in; it is separate from unsaved practice answers. Do not include student records or sensitive information. Hosting and external media services can receive ordinary connection information, such as an IP address. Security rate-limit counters use keyed identifiers. Service providers may maintain their own operational logs.
Hosting, email, and external sources
The application uses OpenAI Sites for site/deployment services and Cloudflare Workers with a Cloudflare D1 database. Configured transactional email uses Resend for teacher mailbox verification and existing recovery/security messages; message contents may include a code or account username. These email flows do not send lesson responses or grades. Personal tutoring uses username-and-PIN recovery, not email. Some historical images load from external archives, and external reading links lead to sites with their own notices. Main application responses suppress referrer information. Read Providers and AI for the data flows and the provider facts that still require written confirmation.
Advertising and AI
MasteriTrail does not use student information for sale, targeted advertising, commercial advertising profiles, or unrelated AI training. No advertising network is configured in the reviewed application source. Independent tutoring checks and self-review do not call an AI service. The separate optional AI writing-feedback/scoring-suggestion integration is disabled unless explicitly configured and enabled after review; it is not official grading. Any activation needs a reviewed purpose, appropriate authorization, provider terms, and updated notice. This application policy does not establish hosting providers’ contractual data-use or training restrictions.
Cookies, device preferences, and account security
Essential signed, HttpOnly cookies keep accounts signed in, with Secure and SameSite protections in production. Personal tutoring has its own cookie, separate from school and family sign-in, lasting up to eight hours. Password and recovery PIN verifiers are hashed; recovery and other account requests are rate-limited. Motion, sound, and guide preferences may be kept in this browser’s local storage. The optional off-screen activity guide keeps only an anonymous 15-minute reminder deadline in this tab’s session storage, not answers, parent notes, or account identifiers. It does not upload that deadline or control device-wide screen time; browser session restore may retain it. Clearing cookies or browser preferences does not delete server records. Sign out on shared devices and protect your username and recovery PIN. These controls reduce risk; no independent security certification or guarantee of perfect security is claimed.
Your access, export, and deletion choices
For independent personal tutoring, open My tutoring account to update the optional nickname or character, download your profile and saved tutoring work, or delete that account and its saved progress after entering your current password. Exports do not include password/PIN verifiers or session tokens. These actions do not change school or family accounts. For school or parent-managed records, use Student records and requests and the school or verified family process for access, correction, or deletion review. Identity, current relationships, preservation holds, and applicable school requirements still matter. Contact support if you cannot use the relevant account controls; an email request alone does not authorize disclosure or a reset.
How long information stays
Personal tutoring accounts and saved progress currently remain in the active application database until the account holder deletes them. There is no automatic inactivity purge. Deletion removes that personal account and linked progress in a guarded database transaction; it does not erase earlier downloads, provider backups, or service logs. School and home records use separate authorized retention and deletion-review processes. School review dates are not automatic deletion dates; open access requests and preservation holds can block deletion. Operational records, including feedback and administrative events, need retention review too. Provider backup and service-log deletion timelines have not been verified; we do not promise a deadline or zero retention.
School-managed use and live games
Teachers can begin private planning without classroom access. Using real school records requires current recorded school authorization, educator authority, and the applicable notice/provider reviews. An account, class code, email verification, or acknowledgment alone does not establish that authority. For school evaluation without authorization, use fictional records. Classroom live games require sign-in and assigned-class access; a game code alone is not permission. Learners receive generated aliases and only their own individual answers and scores. Current class teachers can review their class results. Older unlinked guest-game records may require separate administrator review. Public samples are not an account-free classroom hosting service.
Children and sensitive information
Independent personal tutoring self-signup is for ages 13 and older. The age choice is not a birth-date collection, identity check, or substitute for consent. Under-13 users are directed to the existing parent-managed family path before entering personal signup details. Under-13 home enrollment requires independently verified parental consent before child details are entered; school-managed provisioning has separate verification and notice requirements. A checkbox or class code is not parental consent. If a child used the wrong path, contact support to restrict collection and arrange review. Protected personal surveys are not supported: do not solicit private political, religious, health, sexual, family, legal, or income disclosures through assignments.
Changes and questions
This notice describes MasteriTrail’s implemented features; it is not another service’s privacy policy, a school agreement, a district annual notice, or a legal-compliance certification. Changes to collection, purposes, sharing, providers, or retention require review and updated notices before implementation; school-managed changes also require the applicable school review. This public-page update does not change the recorded school consent notice version or the separate personal tutoring acknowledgment version. Contact the operator, Kendrick Broadus, at support@masteritrail.com for privacy questions or suspected exposure. For school records, also contact the school. Describe the issue without sending passwords, PINs, identity documents, or sensitive attachments. No provider incident-response deadline is represented as verified.
