Privacy for families

This page describes existing school-linked family access and parent-managed home profiles. It does not grant access to a separate personal tutoring account. Ages 13+ can use independent personal tutoring; its own account holder manages that data. For home enrollment, including learners under 13, read the home learning notice.
Optional support profiles
Reading tools are available without a disability label. Assigned teachers and school-verified parents may record optional existing diagnosis categories, learning-tool preferences, response-length modifications, and instructional directions. We also store parent account identity and email, connection status and expiry, school verification references, requests, and administrative action records. Diagnosis categories are restricted to authorized adults in the support portal; student lesson pages receive instructional settings without the diagnosis field. Parent-requested schoolwork changes require teacher approval. Home settings apply only to unassigned lesson practice. These are not diagnostic assessments or replacements for school-approved plans. Use the school records process below for access, correction, or deletion. Do not enter sensitive medical documents or private family details in instructional notes.
What we collect
Student accounts use a classroom alias, username, hashed password and recovery verifier, class membership, work, responses, scores, and activity timestamps. Local registration does not require a student email, home address, or birth date. We do not sell student information, target advertising with it, or build commercial advertising profiles.
Access, correction, and deletion
Contact your school to verify your identity and authority, or contact Kendrick Broadus at support@masteritrail.com with a general request. Do not send identity documents, passwords, or sensitive records in ordinary email. The school and platform coordinate secure verification and delivery. Signed-in students can export their records and submit requests in Student records and requests. Parents should not be asked to share a child’s password.
Who sees learning records
Students see their own work. Assigned teachers see their classes. School-verified parents can view their linked child’s diagnostic status, unit-check percentages, and recent lesson check summaries in the family portal while the connection remains valid; they cannot browse other students. Home guardians also need an independently verified, current relationship bound to that learner; self-attestation is insufficient. Unrelated owners and scoped privacy staff receive operational case metadata, without academic records, support details, or request narratives. Operational account and class administration remains available. Hosting and database operators may have technical access under their infrastructure responsibilities; application roles are not an infrastructure-access guarantee. Every export through the records workflow is logged. A game code does not permit browsing individual classmates’ scores.
Younger children
Under-13 self-registration is closed. School-managed provisioning requires prior verified authorization. If a younger child already has an account, contact the school and operator so further collection can be restricted and records reviewed. A class code, self-reported age, or teacher acknowledgment is not parental consent.

Los administradores conservan funciones operativas y datos mínimos para tramitar solicitudes. No vendemos información estudiantil ni la usamos para publicidad dirigida. Para solicitar acceso, corrección o revisión de eliminación, contacta a tu escuela o a support@masteritrail.com. La escuela debe verificar tu identidad y autoridad mediante un canal seguro. No envíes contraseñas ni documentos sensibles por correo electrónico. El registro para menores de 13 años sigue cerrado.
