Independent personal tutoring: ages 13+
A separate personal tutoring account is available to learners aged 13 or older without a school code or roster connection. It saves only that account’s tutoring work and does not grant access to school or family records. The age choice is not proof of age or school authorization. Under-13 self-registration remains unavailable; use the existing parent-managed home-learning process.
Read the separate personal tutoring notice · Personal tutoring account and controls
This clarification does not change the recorded school consent notice version or the requirements for either under-13 enrollment path.
Independent home enrollment is also available through a parent account. Under-13 home profiles require independently verified parental consent before child details are entered. Read the home learning notice.
Current age limits for school-managed enrollment
Under-13 self-registration is unavailable. New learners aged 13 or older may create a fresh account with a class code only in an already-authorized grade 7–12 section after its independently verified owning educator records current class-level notice delivery and authorized educational use. Eligible new accounts do not wait for individual approval; a code or checkbox does not establish school authority. Verified teacher-managed enrollment remains available, including for younger learners through the existing verified school process. Both school enrollment paths require current educator verification, school authorization, direct notice delivery, an expiration date, published operator contacts, and reviewed provider terms. Existing learners keep their account and use sign-in, class joining or recovery instead of registering again. Owner administration does not provide a separate account-provisioning shortcut. The system does not perform identity verification or obtain signatures on its own. No date of birth is requested. This is a limited enrollment safeguard, not verified consent or a finding that no children use the service.
Before younger students can enroll
The operator must provide appropriate direct notice and implement, document, and verify the applicable parental-consent or school-authorization process, limited to permitted educational purposes. Schools must receive the information needed to make an informed decision. Teachers cannot assume the operator’s legal duties. School-managed provisioning records the result of this verification; a checkbox alone is not consent. A school authorizing on behalf of parents must act within permitted educational purposes. The operator remains responsible for its COPPA obligations. Consent expiration or withdrawal blocks further account access; deletion is handled separately under applicable rights and preservation requirements.
Existing child information
Contact Kendrick Broadus at support@masteritrail.com and the school if information from a child under 13 may already be held. Do not email passwords or sensitive attachments. Requests require identity verification and coordination to restrict further collection and handle access and deletion, including provider-held copies.
